Black Star and Tsubaki want the soul of the witch that Alcapone's mob is gunning for - and the souls of the gangster goons, too.

Death the Kid decides to go soul-hunting in the stunning Egyptian Pyramid of Anubis, which ends in disastrous consequences.

To make up for failed collections of souls, Maka, Soul, Black Star and Tsubaki take a remedial class together, with threat of expulsion if they fail.

The team faces the highly dangerous Dr. Stein who nearly kills Black Star. Plus, Maka catches sight of Stein's soul.

Kid fights Soul and Black Star team on the first day of school, and the fight proves to be one-sided and grossly unfair.
