After Carmel catches and reprimands Barry for creeping into bed during the early hours from god knows where, Barry decides it is finally time to ask for a divorce so he can set up a new life with his best friend and lifelong lover.

Barry returns from dropping Carmel at the airport alone to find a ringing phone with his furious daughter Maxine on the other end, demanding that he meets her that afternoon. Barry admits to Morris his inability to tell Carmel about the divorce.
