Hope, Rafael and Alaric head out on the road to search for Landon after his suspicious disappearance. Plus, Josie and Lizzie's plan to stay low key is foiled during an annual flag game.

Hope, Lizzie, Josie, and MG must participate in a community service project as punishment for breaking the rules. Plus, Landon and Rafael's attempt at a carefree life on the road takes a dangerous turn when they become unsuspecting targets.

When two students go missing, Alaric sends Hope, Lizzie, MG and Landon to Mystic Falls High to investigate. Elsewhere, Josie helps Rafael adjust, and an unsettling discovery puts Alaric and Sheriff Donovan at odds with one another.

Tensions rise after Alaric decides to give the students a bigger voice by forming an honour council. Elsewhere, Hope does a series of magical tests on Landon while Alaric and Dorian take on the next creature to try and find out what they want.

Lizzie and Josie get ready for their sweet 16 party, and Alaric becomes preoccupied with an unexpected arrival. Meanwhile, MG tries to impress Lizzie.
