The first week of the comedy workshop starts with the introduction of women, men and LGBTQ+ as the three different student groups in prison. Comedia Sofía Niño de Rivera helps the nervous inmates as they take stand-up comedy for the first time.

The inmates bring in their first homework assignment: five things they hate. Coco Celis visits the class and gives feedback.

With five weeks to go until the final show, the students begin to improve their routines. Sofía notices lots of anxiety and helps the students deal with their stage fright.

As graduation approaches, Sofía reveals surprising news to her students, but she receives an unexpected response.
