J'onn Jonzz, the Martian Manhunter, comes to Earth to warn of an impending alien invasion. With the help of Superman and Batman, he gathers the world's greatest heroes to fend off the seemingly unstoppable invading armada.

The Justice League fight a group of robots called Manhunters who demand Green Lantern John Stewart's surrender until John suddenly agrees to go willingly. The League follow John to an interplanetary tribunal and learn the grim charges against him.

Flash acts as Green Lantern's defence to stall the tribunal's decision until the Justice League can find evidence that proves he did not destroy the planet. The investigation uncovers a plot devised by the Manhunters to take over the galaxy.

Orm tries to wrest control of Atlantis from Aquaman, but the Justice League helps Aquaman regain his throne.
