Can Video Games Change the World?

Before the game designers reveal their games to the world, they return to the desert one last time to share their creations with the people that inspired them. All of the teams travel to Alxa, Inner Mongolia, for the final presentation.

At the second stop of this desert journey, scientists in Zhongwei, Ningxia, an innovation hub for sand control technology, show the video game designers how science can better equip us in the fight against desertification.

The game designers arrive at a nature reserve on the edge of the Tenggar Desert where they meet locals who use gamification to communicate sand control messages. Plus, they present their final design plans to a class of game-savvy primary school kids.

After three weeks in the desert, the game designers return home and attempt to turn their desert experience into real playable games. Meanwhile, game expert Felania makes a public call to action.
