Geeta lives a poor lifestyle near Charni Road, Bombay, along with her widowed mom and younger sister Vasant. She works with a sewing machine and rents a room to young man named Raj to make ends meet, but her feelings for him flourish when he becomes ill and Geeta resolves to take care of him.
