Mel Gibson's Apocalypto

Set in the turbulent final days of the once supreme Mayan civilisation, this is the story of Jaguar Paw, a Pacific hunter who is taken on a perilous journey in which he discovers a world ruled by force and violence. His old idyllic life is brutally disrupted, as he is chosen as a sacrifice to the gods by the Mayan leaders. However, Jaguar Paw will try desperately to escape and return home, in order to save his family.
