Bickering curmudgeons Max and John find plenty more to disagree about, notably the marriage of their respective offspring, and the arrival of a sexy Italian woman and her mother, who plan to turn the local fish bait shop into a restaurant. Max and his bawdy old father put John's nose further out of joint by falling for the new arrivals.
