In a small fishing town in Taiwan, Bu (Shu Qi) fantasizes about romantic adventures all the time. One day, Bu sits on the beach, a bottle is washed ashore. Inside is a handwritten note with a Hong Kong address. That is so romantically adventurous, Bu thinks. An equally lonely man is calling out for her on the other side of the sea. This has to be the sign she has been waiting for. She cleans out her bank accounts, travels to Taipei and aboards a plane to Hong Kong...
