Deep Impact

Apocalyptic thriller in which life on Earth is threatened by a rogue comet. When a reporter in pursuit of a Washington sex scandal is arrested by the FBI, she discovers that the story is an inconsequential part of a huge cover-up. She soon finds herself in possession of the biggest story in the history of humankind, the planet will be destroyed in one year, unless a risky outer-space mission can deflect the comet.
