In a situation remarkably similar to present-day Britain, graduates in 1990s' India find that education is no guarantee of employment. Unable to get work in Delhi, a man decides to try his luck in New York. When he gets there, he finds himself homeless, jobless and desperate. Two taxi drivers, an Indian and a Pakistani, take him in and help him find work. He meets a woman who soon develops feelings for him.
