S1, E4: It's late at night the day before Shiro Kakei's (Hidetoshi Nishijima) father Goro (Kotaro Shiga) is set to have a major surgery. Kenji Yabuki (Seiyo Uchino) gives a present to a restless Shiro. It's a small towel for Shiro's mother Hisae (Meiko Kaji). Shiro promises to give it to her, but Kenji says he doesn't need to if it's too much to ask. However, Shiro is overcome by anxiety the next day at the hospital and gives the towel to an agitated Hisae without telling her it is from Kenji.
