Karsu's Turkije

Karsu travels to Istanbul. The beautiful Turkish metropolis, with a population of about 16 million people, has both a European and an Asian part. Here Karsu meets her good friend, and former culinary reviewer for Turkish Vogue, Cemre.

A dream comes true for Karsu. As she explores the lovely streets, authentic bars and colourful architecture of Istanbul's idyllic Asian part, she also visits Refika. This Turkish version of Jamie Oliver is a great role for Karsu.

On the last day in Istanbul, Karsu introduces the new generation of Turkish cooking talents. But first, she visits the famous and impressive Suleymaniye Mosque. Here, Karsu enjoys the beauty, architecture and serenity.

Karsu leaves Istanbul and travels on to Alacati, one of the most beautiful secret towns on the Turkish Riviera. Known for its many pretty beaches, fashionable lifestyle and, of course, fish. Turks escape the hustle and bustle of the big cities here.

Karsu stays in Alacati for a while and takes us to the idyllic and colourful city centre. With her, we discover Turkey's lesser-known organic cuisine and the many natural local wines.

Karsu travels on to Hatay province, the province in eastern Turkey where her parents were born. In Hatay's capital Antakya, she goes in search of the perfect preparation of the most famous regional dish: Tepsi Kebabi.
