The murder of a homeless man, which is very similar in detail to a murder committed in 1947, leads Mulder and Scully to a legendary man-beast roaming in the forest near Atlantic City.

Mulder is assigned a mysterious murder case in New Jersey, and Scully discovers a strange worm-like creature slithering inside the corpse.

The agents search for a man who possesses strange powers and uncover a dangerous secret from Mulder's past that could expose the truth about alien existence.

A federal poultry inspector is killed by an axe-wielding masked man, but no body is found. During their investigation, Mulder and Scully discover an increasingly paranoid rural community uniting against them. Their first lead takes them to the Chako Chicken processing plant - where the agents rapidly lose their appetite.
