When one of the contestants discover an idol, they must quickly decide who they can trust. The Tribal Council causes some contestants to become overwhelmed by paranoia.

The 12 everyday Australians and 12 champions begin their 50-day quest to become the sole survivor by out-thinking and outlasting their opponents.

Paranoia spreads across both tribes as rumours of contestants possessing idols emerge. At the Tribal Council, the tribe is confronted with questions about leadership.

The contestants take part in the first challenge, which involves heights and blindfolds, and the second challenge, which requires all their strength. However, one survivor appears to be throwing the game.

After losing the Immunity Challenge, one tribe will consider the ultimate betrayal to eliminate one of the game's most powerful players.

As the contestants begin to form alliances, they are faced with a rewards challenge that sees one team gain some fishing equipment.
