After years of paying their dues, which included honing their surgery skills in Las Vegas, they decided to pursue their dreams of owning their own practice together. In 2015, Cy-Fair Animal Hospital opened its doors in Dr Ross' home city of Houston. `The Vet Life' chronicles the doctors' juggling act running the full-service hospital and animal shelter while managing family lives filled with spouses, parents, in-laws, children, pets and friends.

Houston welcomes veterinarians Dr Blue, Dr Ross and Dr Lavigne, who have their hands full with everything from risky surgeries to diagnosing sick chameleons.

Dr Ross is back, but a check-up with a large pet proves to be too much too soon. When a Frenchie goes into labour, Dr Lavigne performs an emergency C-section.

The Vet Mobile

Dr Ross buys a mobile unit for community outreach, and at the clinic Dr Ross examines an iguana for an abscess, and a paraplegic dachshund gets a new set of wheels.

The clinic takes in displaced animals during the massive flooding in Houston; Dr Blue helps a puppy with a deadly disease acquired from standing water; Dr Lavigne and Dr Ross examine a wandering tiger.

Dr Ross performs surgery on a second-chance pup; Dr Lavigne checks up on a prickly pet; Dr Blue treats an injured owl, then joins Dr Ross in checking on a cute litter of sick, tiny piglets.
