The Sound and the Syllable

Sarah gets an audition with Leonor Delise; Sarah is able to understand lyrical complexity and sing a song perfectly having heard it only once but struggles to interpret it with the desired emotion. She must prove to Leonor her worth.

Sarah begins taking Leonor's singing lessons and realises she must find a way to interpret the arias with the desired emotion; Sarah finds herself facing an audience and she meets a young autistic man, Louis.

Tension between Sarah and Leonor increases during the singing lessons. Sarah goes on her first date with Louis. Leonor receives an invitation to attend her daughter Jeannie's performance in Brazil.

Sarah wants to sign up for an international lyrical singing contest, but Leonor thinks she's not ready for it yet; Leonor decides to reach out to her daughter, Jeannie, while she is in Brazil; Sarah finds a way to sign herself up for the contest.

Nicola falls sick during the flight and is hospitalised in critical condition as soon as they land in Brazil; Leonor is outraged by Sarah's disobedience; Leonor and Jeannie finally meet for the first time after years without speaking to one another.

Leonor and Jeannie rekindle their relationship; Sarah fears she won't be accepted into the contest because she did not reveal she's autistic on her registration form; Deborah supports Sarah's desire to participate in the contest.
