A journalist returned to her home village to reconnect with her father and sister, but her return coincides with the disappearance of a 16-year-old girl.

A detective arrives in town to investigate the girl's disappearance and a large-scale search begins.

As the inhabitants of Oldenheim start to mistrust each other, Sharif's investigation reveals the darker side of the town. Peggy impedes the investigation in an attempt to exonerate her father.

After a third disappearance, Sharif finds it increasingly difficult to control the case. Peggy has had enough and goes out to investigate by herself.
