Ros Pritchard, an exasperated supermarket manager from North England, runs for election as an Independent candidate and finds herself elected as Prime Minister with a confrontational Tory as her deputy.

Mrs Pritchard gets a request from the Queen to form the next government and she seeks ideas from the public.

Ros decides to sell Westminister and set up in Parliament. Emily poses for a men's magazine.

Twelve months into Ros's new career, a plane crashes over East London. Beverley is photographed on a drunken night out, whilst Emily unhappily keeps her dad's secret.

A by-election is looming, and Ros makes an unpopular move to ban cars one day a week.

After revelations in her marriage, Ros must decide how transparent she thinks she can be.
