Using her own diaries and other first hand accounts of her visits, they discover the extraordinary preparations that were undertaken and explore the legacy of each visit - upstairs and downstairs. Rosemary Shrager and Tim Wonnacott visit Shugborough Hall in Staffordshire, following in the footsteps of Queen Victoria's royal visits. They discover what life was like for the 13-year-old Victoria when she visited the Earl of Lichfield with her mother in 1832. Tim reveals how Victoria was kept under 24-hour surveillance. He also tastes the beer still brewed in the estate as it would have been in 1832.

Antiques expert Tim Wonnacott and chef Rosemary Shrager visit Harewood House in Yorkshire. Victoria visited Harewood in 1835, two years before she became Queen. Tim looks at a beautiful writing set that belonged to Victoria and which she used to write her journals. Ivan Day and Rosemary cook a dish of asparagus in a pastry crust, and reveal a Victorian method of making greens become even greener.

Tim and Rosemary visit Holkham Hall in North Norfolk, as they retrace the steps of 16-year-old Victoria on a two day visit there, in 1835, two years before she became Queen. Tim reveals how, in nearby Kings Lynn, the townspeople insisted on pulling her carriage around the town in celebration of her visit, and he also discovers the young princess's love of music.

Chef Rosemary Shrager and antiques expert Tim Wonnacott visit the Royal Pavilion in Brighton to reveal the story behind 19-year-old Queen Victoria's visit during the Christmas Holidays in 1838 - the year she became Queen. Tim shows us the extraordinary Chinese style interior and reveals just how it was styled in this way thanks to one of Victoria's predecessors.
