Professional chef Adam Liaw explores the Japanese cuisine in this travelogue series. In Japan, Liaw goes on a mission to find out what makes the food here incredibly delicious as well as healthy. He meets local food producers and master chefs along his journey who share their recipes with him. The recipes feature traditional ingredients of miso, sake, mirin, daikon, radishes and konbu whilst others experiment with mountain soil to make gourmet soup. From the frozen ponds of Hokkaido, Liaw samples sea urchin and elsewhere he tastes the popular chicken dish of Nagoya.
