We meet seven-year-old Jack Norfolk who faces his 22nd operation. He need surgery on his hip bone which has been damaged by disease. Also, in A and E, a child has an orange pip stuck in her nose, and a five-year old has a nasty gash on his head.

One-year-old Charlie, who is profoundly deaf, undergoes a ground-breaking implant operation to restore his hearing. Professor Richard Ramsden has come out of retirement to perform this pioneering five-hour surgery. Will Charlie's hearing be restored? Meanwhile, a 17-day-old baby is rushed in with breathing problems, and 3-year-old Ruby may have broken her toe.
