Alan uncovers Ham House on the banks of the River Thames, in Richmond. An opulent 17th century mansion that tells the epic story of intimate royal relationships, civil war, political brinkmanship and the woman who triumphed over it all. Also Ronnie Archer Morgan discovers another formidable woman Eleanor Coade, whose Coade stone statue adorns the front lawn at Ham House. Oz Clarke travels to Moseley Old Hall in Wolverhampton, which was the dramatic location used to hide Charles II when he was on the run from the parliamentarians.
