The argue that the college authorities knew what was going on but didn't do enough to prevent it. However, they are forced to rethink their approach when the opposing lawyer abruptly changes tactics, asserting that the death was the result of a hate crime.

Holmes and Watson investigate a double-homicide and discover the victims were staging a fake murder at the time they were killed.
