Still on crutches, John Carter returns for a tough first day in the ER since the attack and treats an attempted suicide with uncharacteristic harshness. Mark Green is angered when his father both refuses treatment for his lung cancer, and then chooses Elizabeth as his physician when he is admitted with breathing difficulties.
