A young couple spending time in an empty house that doesn't belong to them find themselves in trouble when a security guard who was a decorated war veteran is shot dead in the street outside. Brenda returns from leave early to help solve the murder but finds her investigation is taking place under the watchful eye of Deputy District Attorney Claire Baldwin.
