Carla begins a relationship with Eddie LeBec, a goalie from Quebec who plays hockey for the Boston Bruins. She brings Frasier to a game since he is mourning the loss of his lab-chimpanzee, Bombo.

Eddie LeBec returns for a Boston ice show with an attractive East German skater, Franzi Schrempf, making Carla jealous. On the other hand, Sam is desperate to seduce Franzi, who repeatedly rejects his advances.
