Dave Cutler, the postman of Goodman’s Land is found slain down. Jay Nash, a young police woman of the village, helps Barnaby and Troy around. There are many suspects, but no motive. Even less, as there is another woman, an antique dealer and a wealthy publisher killed. Neighbours say, that they have heard an old dance melody, just before the murders. The investigations take its time, for the joy of sergeant Troy who fell in love with Jay Nash.
