In 2016 the UK voted to leave the EU in a referendum, resulting in Brexit. This documentary explores the dual personas that EU citizens living in the UK have developed as a result: a form of self-protection that separates the public demeanour from the private inner turmoil. The public face is neutral but always guarded, assessing the reactions of the `natives', captured by shooting both over the shoulder and sideways to convey a sense of being constantly on guard.
