Kwai - The Death Railway

In 1942, Japan forced over 200,000 Asian civilians and 65,000 Western POWs to build a railway through the Thai-Burmese jungle. After 15 months, 120,000 were dead from exhaustion, hunger, and disease. Today, the bridge on the river draws tourists, while survivors recall the harrowing sacrifices and human cost behind its construction.
