Unlikely Heroes

Unlikely Heroes chronicles untold stories of Jewish resistance and individual heroism during the Holocaust. Rare film and photos discovered in archives are utilized, and they're enhanced by newly filmed sequences in the same locations where many of these stories occurred. For most, the idea of Jewish resistance during the Holocaust is limited to the heroism of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and a few isolated acts throughout World War II. Contrary to the view that Jews caught in the terror of Hitler's Europe were passive, this film exhibits previously unknown stories of extraordinary individuals who exemplified utmost courage and human dignity during the most desperate days of the Holocaust.
