Polish caregiver Magda has a big heart and an even bigger mouth, and she doesn’t take any nonsense. After slapping a groper, she finds herself jobless and homeless overnight. But not for long. She boldly intervenes in a family dispute and offers her services to receptionist Cornelia and elevator technician Tobias as a caregiver for Cornelia’s mother, Waltraud, who was recently in an accident.

Cornelia is determined to give the house a complete makeover. The only problem is her mother, Waltraud, who is bedridden and hates change. Cornelia has no choice but to keep the renovation a secret. She and Tobias manage to pull it off for a while—mostly because Tobias isn’t actually doing any renovating. Luckily, they have Magda’s energic help to get things done.

There’s a burglar on the loose! After a neighbor’s terrifying tale, Waltraud is convinced she’s the next victim. The slightest noise keeps her from sleeping a wink. This means Magda can’t sleep either, as she’s forced to check every shutter and door on every level. While making her rounds, she runs into a naked Tobias in the stairwell, followed by Leah, who is just arriving home.

A ten-euro bill is missing from Waltraud's wallet, and she immediately blames "the Polish woman.” Magda is hurt, but what stings more is that Cornelia also suspects her. Meanwhile, only Magda notices that Luca is unusually quiet. The next day, she catches him putting the money back into Waltraud's handbag.
