Eberhard and Doris Schmidt run a successful haulage company. Eberhard Schmidt, a freight forwarder, learns of his cancer diagnosis and wants to use his remaining time to fulfill a lifelong dream.

Sixteen-year-old Camilla suffers from scoliosis, a lateral curvature of the spine. After giving up wearing her brace, she develops cardiac arrhythmia and is admitted to the Sachsenklinik, where a risky operation is now being considered.

Anna Eisert is having an affair with the married Georg. When Georg’s wife Ute returns from a trip earlier than planned, Anna is in a hurry to leave the Lohmann apartment and promptly collides with Ute outside the building. After the accident, both women share a hospital room, and Anna’s view of Georg changes.

Bastian Marquardt is about to transfer to a secondary school. Sarah naturally wants only the best for her son and enrolls him at an elite grammar school, but she has not reckoned with her son, who wants to continue going to school with his friend Jonas Heilmann. The two boys launch a protest campaign with devastating consequences.

Construction worker Mario causes an accident at a building site in which his boss is seriously injured. At the Sachsenklinik, Dr. Roland Heilmann diagnoses a ruptured spleen. Dr. Brentano examines Mario for visual disturbances, but Chief Physician Heilmann doubts his motives.

Ninety-year-old Alfred Grammel has sold his house to the young couple Sandra and Stefan Ameling. In return, they have granted him the right to live there for the rest of his life, but his relationship with the young married couple is marked by deep mistrust. After a fall, he is admitted to the Sachsenklinik with a fractured fibula.
