Midsomer Murders: For Death Prepare
Situated on the grand Empson Estate, Brattlington Hall has been home to the distinguished Empson family for generations. In the 1920s, the late Gilbert and Sullivan obsessed Sir Huntley Empson founded The Midsomer Mummers, an amateur operatic society, and converted the disused mill o the family estate into The Empson Playhouse, a private theatre to stage his productions. The indomitable Lady Katisha, Sir Huntley’s daughter, is the current owner of the estate; proud of her family’s obsession, Katisha has retained everything as it was in her father’s day and followed in his footsteps as patron of the Mummers. Alongside the theatre, Katisha occupies her time with her private GP, Dr Simon Charteris, who provides elite mobile healthcare and has beguiled her with attention. Their closeness is starting to concern friends and family leading many to question if there are ulterior motives behind Simon’s slick exterior. This year commemorates one hundred years of the Midsomer Mummers, and the group are rehearsing for their centenary charity concert of The Pirates of Penzance. With only three days until curtains up it is all hands-on deck; the Mummers are behind on schedule and the pressure is mounting. Behind the fanciful world of pirates and acting is ruthless rivalry, consumed by the desire to perform; how far would someone go to remain centre stage?
