Scott designs and builds something he’s wanted his whole life: a workshop. But not just any workshop, the perfect workshop. Meanwhile, Sabrina has never had a space of her own for crafts and schoolwork, so she designs her own femme-den, with jaw-dropping results. And Scott convinces a group of school kids to help raise cash for Karen’s build – in literally the coolest way possible.

Scott decides to treat Sabrina to a well deserved break and surprises her with a special trip while he takes care of the kids. Meanwhile, he begins work on a room that’s critical for the family’s overall happiness: a playroom. And while Scott rallies his and Sabrina’s families for some free-labour at the build site, he discovers a tiny tenant he can’t evict.

Sabrina and Scott prepare their old house for sale. The basement in-law suite suffers a big setback that requires open floor surgery. Karen’s son, 16-year-old Jayden, helps Scott build something special for his mom. Good news: the McGillivray’s home sells fast. Not so good: the buyer wants a fast closing date, so their newly-revealed in-law suite is about to become their cramped home.
