Honoré Mercier hopes to change Quebec's future and stands for election, Father Labelle dreams of a railway line to the north, a symbol of hope for the parishioners, and Donalda would like to see Alexis set up on her land.

An employee at Séraphin's yard, Alexis, continues to love Donalda from afar, Father Labelle receives a visit from Bishop Fabre, who's unhappy with Mercier's election, and Méo's land is sold at auction.

Furious at having lost Donalda, Alexis seeks a way to keep Siffleux with him. Father Labelle wants to protect the land and threatens the forestry companies. An anonymous letter forces Délima to leave the hotel.
EPISODE 2

Episode 2

Siffleux accuses Séraphin of having killed his father. Séraphin lies about the circumstances of the murder, and also tries to thwart Father Labelle's land surveying plans. Then, a competition will decide who is to be the future postmaster.

Episode 3

While opposition grows to Séraphin´s austerity plans, he tries to force Alexis to leave the village by buying Anthime´s forge. Labelle is threatened by Ward, the manager of American Paper, who turns up at the hotel with armed men.

Episode 4

Alexis must be back by daybreak with the money to buy the forge. Séraphin is determined to stop him. Jérôme discovers something which could put Séraphin in court. Angélique tries to convince her husband Cyprien to become mayor of Sainte-Adèle.
