Steve heads off on an adventure with Réal and Julie Jodoin, leaving Bonnyville in Alberta for a 60 km expedition along the Ironhorse Trail, a former railway line. For Steve it's also a chance to do a little investigating.

Steve sets off to meet the cowboys and cowgirls from the LGBTQ community. During the Gay Rodeo in Calgary, held for the first time in the famous Stampede Park, they recount their stories and invite Steve to take part in some of the rodeo events.

Steve explores Western arts and sets himself the challenge of composing a country song to recount his epic urban cowboy journey. In doing so he meets up with Scotty Hardy, a talented silversmith, then Joël Lavoie and Crystal Plamondon.

Steve learns more about being a cattle farmer and looking after cattle with all the modern-day challenges. He visits the land set aside for grazing and meets ranchers such as Louis Alix, JP Monvoisin and Scott Woodruff.

Steve joins an unmissable event in the Canadian rodeo calendar: the Saint Tite Western Festival. On-site, he asks Roger Lacasse what makes this rodeo such a success. Back in Alberta, Steve tries his hand at "skijoring".

In Arizona, Steve heads off to meet the American cowboy. In Tucson, he visits Russell True's dude ranch, then mounts up to ride across a desert full of giant cactus. He also joins in a historical re-enactment in Tombstone.
