Lucy wants to be in Ricky's act when an injured Buffo the Clown arrives at her apartment; she performs a slapstick routine with Ricky and a cello, and impersonates a seal; everyone is shocked when a TV network offers her a contract.

Lucy and Ethel decide to make some extra money by buying a used, walk-in freezer. When they unwittingly buy 700 pounds of beef, they try to sell it to customers at the butcher shop. Lucy later finds herself locked in the freezer.

The two couples have a fun evening singing until the Mertzes go home and hear the Ricardos still singing in the apartment above. Arguments occur between the friends and, to break out of their lease, the Ricardos invite Ricky's band over to play.

Lucy and Ricky's thirteenth anniversary is rapidly approaching. In an outward show of affection, they buy each other gifts—golf clubs for Ricky and a fur for Lucy.

Lucy meets her Spanish-speaking mother-in-law for the first time.

Lucy tries to play Cupid for a bachelor and a husband-hungry girlfriend.
