Little Aurore's tragedy

A little girl, Aurore, witnesses the death of her invalid mother through the negligence of the woman supposedly nursing her. The coniving nurse in turn marries the child's father, becoming the little girl's stepmother. Unwisely revealing to her that she knows the reason for her mother's death, Aurore starts being abused and tortured by her stepmother in the hope she will keep her secret. The father will look away until the tragic end.
