17-year-old Rosa lives in an offbeat LA beach town with her mother and her mom's lover Bruno, a cult novelist. German millionaire Baldi also lives in this community and is after Rosa's attentions. Baldi, who makes his money pirating authors' works, is especially hated by Bruno.
