Lars, a washed up artist with a serious case of painters block, accepts a teaching job in a podunk Canadian town. There he's introduced to local oddball Eddie, a gigantic mute whom he agrees to look after. But Lars soon discovers that Eddie has a grisly nighttime habit—a habit that reignites Lars' creative fire.
