When George Sr. is rushed to the emergency room Meemaw comes to babysit; the kids have an adventure getting to the hospital on their own.

After graduating high school, Sheldon has a breakdown when he realizes he may not be ready for college. Also, Dale (recurring guest star CRAIG T. NELSON) tries to make amends with Meemaw in the season four premiere episode.

With college in sight, Sheldon is determined to ride his bike without training wheels and has Missy teach him. Meanwhile, Mary and George argue over parenting styles.

Meemaw takes matters into her own hands when Sheldon’s philosophy teacher, Professor Ericson, sends him into a tailspin. Also, George learns that Georgie has been cutting class.

Sheldon finds himself in a fierce competition with Paige (recurring guest star MCKENNA GRACE) after their mothers force them to attend Vacation Bible School. Meanwhile, George is furious when Georgie makes a questionable purchase.
