Tafiti: Across the Desert
Tafiti, a 12-year-old meerkat, doesn‘t follow Grandpapa‘s strict rules and brings home a bushpig called Bristles. There, Bristles unintentionally causes an accident with a poisonous snake where Grandpapa is bitten. Grandpapa makes Tafiti promise to never get involved with animals of other species than meerkats. According to an old legend, he then stammers about a blue flower that could heal all wounds and save him. Determined to save Grandpapa, Tafiti sets out alone to find the blue flower. Bristles feels very guilty and follows Tafiti stubbornly although Tafiti tries to shake him off because of his promise. Facing many dangerous situations and saving each other during their way through the desert, a friendship between Tafiti and Bristles rises. Finally, they find the blue flower and can save Grandpapa. Strengthened through their journey, Tafiti is now able to stand to his friendship with Bristles contrary to his promise. Grandpapa realizes his stubborn attitude and Bristles becomes a new non-meerkat family member.
