La Belle Américaine

In this French comedy, Marcel (Robert Dhéry), a hapless factory worker, stumbles across a good deal on a Cadillac convertible being sold by an unsentimental widow. After purchasing the luxury automobile, Marcel hits a streak of comically bad luck, and has to deal with outrageous gasoline bills, major traffic jams and unfortunate car-washing incidents. Though his wife, Paulette (Colette Brosset), wants to sell it, Marcel is reluctant to part with his problematic but highly prized car.
