Tokyo-based web designer Tawara Souta returns to his hometown in the country after his father passes away; on a visit to his father's defunct noodle restaurant, Souta discovers an unusual orphan living inside.

Souta cares for the starving tanuki he found in the restaurant and must pass it off as a human child when heading into town to buy some clothes.

The Red Lighthouse

An old friend invites Souta on an early morning fishing trip, where they discuss marriage and whether Souta should sell his father's restaurant or take it over himself.

Rinko, Souta's inquisitive older sister, makes a bad impression on Poco; all three take a trip to Yashima, which brings up old memories.
