Lambing season begins, so the hopefuls get straight to work preparing a maternity shed for 60 pregnant ewes.

The hopefuls prepare for the release of beavers and the arrival of pigs onto the estate; one pair of hopefuls become the first to spend a night in the farmhouse, with the responsibility of looking after the animals.

The wannabe-tenants demonstrate their heads for business at Hexham Farmers' Market, but as lambing starts on the farm, tensions mount; Giles and Sally face a tough decision, they must decide who will be leaving the farm.

The pressure's on for the remaining hopefuls who host a farm visit for a group of school children and look after the lambing ewes around the clock; one applicant attempts to fix the old Ferguson tractor, but has to phone a friend in the process.

The remaining hopefuls head to a local livestock auction to test how they would fit into the rural community; on the farm, the applicants work with Wallington's team of rangers, creating new wildlife habitats.

The remaining hopefuls build a rotational grazing system and have their livestock handling skills tested in a cattle health check.
