Heiter bis tödlich, Morden im Norden

On a demolition site, homeless man Jan Steinert observes how a man on the run from the police hides a green sports bag. After the man has disappeared, Steinert finds the loot from a bank robbery, 53,000 euros. Unnoticed, Steinert takes the money and leaves the bag behind.

Finn and Lars pursue a sports car, the driver of which appears to be underage. Suddenly, the boy loses control of the vehicle and crashes. As the detectives rush to help him, he pulls a gun and threatens them. A struggle ensues, a shot is fired, and the boy collapses.

Drywall installer Harry Siebert is found bludgeoned to death at a construction site. His wife Klara provides the detectives with their first lead. Her husband had arranged to meet with site manager Jens Weigand to demand the wages he had been owed for months. Since Weigand intended to delay the payment once again, Harry was facing financial ruin.

16-year-old Silke Bruhn is pulled dead from the River Trave. Initial examinations reveal that she was beaten before her death. Finn and Lars discover signs of a picnic on the riverbank, leading them to wonder if the girl got into an argument with a boy on a date. Silke’s mother and her older brother, Niko, are completely surprised, as Silke had said she was staying over at her new friend’s place.

Nadia Mönning, the wife of a renowned heart surgeon from Lübeck, surprises a burglar in her home. She confronts the man with a pistol and prepares to call the police when the intruder reveals himself to be her physiotherapist, Kai Thieme. At that moment, Nadia’s terminally ill father-in-law, Horst Mönning, appears, trying to come to her aid.

A jogger comes across the body of 39-year-old Franziska Höven in a protected natural park. She died from a broken neck caused by a blow to the back of the head. However, the location where she was found is not the crime scene. Initial investigations reveal that the victim was transported in her husband’s car.
