JD rethinks his relationship with his interns when Dr Kelso tells him he will inevitably treat them badly. Carla accidentally gives Elliot an odd nickname at her new job. Dr Cox prevents Turk from warning Jordan about a con man.

JD's decision-making skills are put to the test by Dr Cox. Elliot learns about how things work at her new hospital, but she still feels more at home at Sacred Heart. Turk continues to give Carla birth-control pills without her knowledge.

When Dr Kelso discovers a bird in the hospital, he asks Janitor to get rid of it, but he likes it so much he keeps it as a pet. JD tries to find a way to remove Keith so that he can retain his favourite but incompetent intern.

An irritatingly perfect intern increases JD's problems with a patient falling into a coma as well as his break-up.

JD realises that he and Kim are surprisingly compatible. With the baby born, Carla thinks about returning to work.
