The 12 everyday Australians and 12 champions begin their 50 day quest to become the sole survivor by out-thinking and outlasting their opponents.

As the contestants begin to form alliances, they are faced with a rewards challenge that sees one team gain some fishing equipment.

The contestants take part in the first challenge, which involves heights and blindfolds, and the second challenge, which requires all their strength. However, one survivor appears to be throwing the game.

The contenders go all out in the challenges in a desperate attempt to prove they have what it takes to win. Tensions rise at Tribal Council as one player is taken by surprise and sent packing.

When one of the contestants discover an idol, they must quickly decide who they can trust; Tribal Council causes some contestants to become overwhelmed by paranoia.

After losing the Immunity Challenge, one tribe considers the ultimate betrayal to eliminate one of the game's most powerful players.
